What kind of poem has 5 lines and a total of 31 syllables?  Also, how many syllables are in each line?  – You only need to be a little resourceful to find the answers! :)

This time, the first 3 correct responses from each class period get the bonus! Answer before Friday morning!  Your comments (answers) will be revealed on Friday.

The answer is a Tanka poem

It’s a TANKA-its a Japanese poetry….Line 1 contains 5 syllables; line 2 contains 7 syllables; line 3 contains 5 syllables; and lines 4 and 5 each contain 7 syllables

Hi Ms. Scott. This is Azka Niaz from first period. The type of poem is called Tanka. The first line normally has 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables. The third line has 5 syllables again. And the fourth adn fifth lines each have 7 syllables.

7 in the second
5 in the third
and 7 in the fourth and fifth

The answer is a Tanka poem with each line having syllables of 5-7-5-7-7
