Today we passed back work and put it in work folders and then we did a vocabulary activity to help prepare us to beging reading The Giver, by Lois Lowry, next week.  If you would like to, we encourage you to get your child a personal copy of the book so they might feel ownership of the story and also be able to annotate and review as much as they like.  We will have a copy for each child to use at school, so it is not necessary to get one for your child, only suggested. :)

Hi Ms.Scott!

I have been really sick and I think I’m caught up on everything I’ve missed so far, but your blog doesn’t show what I’ve missed on Friday so I was wondering if you could tell me so I can get caught up everything and turn it in when I come back to school. I doubt I’ll be coming tomorrow so I’ll need Mondays work as well.

Mandy,
Thank you so much for checking the blog and making efforts to keep up. The main thing I will need you to do upon your return is take the GA Authors Test. You also missed a vocab worksheet. I have sent you personal email with this and other info. On Friday (I was also out) The class did activity about color. Since you were not able to participate, just think of 1-3 words that represent each of the following colors to you and write them down: green, blue, red, orange, yellow.
Hope to see you soon.
~Ms. Scott
