~ Happy Birthday to my Wonderful Mom today! ~
Today in class we learned about several more Text Features from our “How-to…” book. We focused on Primary Sources and Timelines. We then explained a Time Line Project students will create with a partner. Students chose partners and then began the process. Students are to do the following over the next 2-3 class periods:
- Decide on at least 7 events from the Protest! book to include on their timeline
- Organize/order the dates (You may need to quickly Google one or two the the events that that don’t have dates listed.)
- As you work on a first draft, decide the title for your timeline
- Decide on the time frame
- Write a description of each event (shorter than a paragraph, longer than a few words.)
- Discuss ideas for illustrations
- Plan out how you will arrange/organize things
- Find/cut/create illustrations
- Create a Final Product that is neat, correct, colorful, and creative!
Students will have art supplies, paper, magazines, etc. to use to help them complete this project.
Have a happy and safe Labor Day! See you next week!
