Today we began our first unit of the year, Making Sense of Informational Texts. We are using a how-to guide booklet and a short informational booklet entitled Protest! How Americans Changed History.
We learned about strategies we should apply before we begin reading (pg. 2-5) and put those into practice as we previewed Protest! and did a few activities to help us activate our prior knowledge. We began our “Concept/Details Chart” in class.
HW: Finish “Concept/Details Chart” and Bring Composition Book (if not already turned in) – Chart is due at the begining of class tomorrow.
