Today we focused on 3 types of Japanese poems, Haiku, Tanka, and Lantern.   In the poetry packet, students completed the pages for each of these types.   Students wrote 4 Haikus, at least 3 of which focused on things from the natural world, as Haikus traditionally do.  We also wrote 2 Tankas and 2 Lanterns (in spaces provided in packet).   Please make sure you are following the guidelines and descriptions for creating each type of poem.
